| Buy a neoprene slap strap, they float, as will your whole mask. Problem solved. Mine's a green. Cheers, Digs. |

| One sec, I might really earn it now: Divelife - North of England's most comprehensive Dive Centre. Works a treat. Plus if you get a plain one you can write your name on it and people will be able to tell who it is. |

| Not all masks float with a neoprene thingy - mine doesn't! However, it does slow the descent, and in my case (it fell off once after rolling in from a boat) my buddy managed to catch it. David |

The only mask I have lost was as you say over the side of the RIB when rinsing it, it was on my very first sea dives from the club RIB in 1994, never lost one since and still using the same mask. |

| Now thats just taken all the fun out of my evening. Here was me looking forward to an late night of experimentation in the shed with an old mask, a 45 gallon drum full of sea water and as many floaty looking things and gaffa tape as I could lay my hands on............... Digs. For ruining my night............... theres a green on its way. Regards Mark |

| Oh, and if it doesn't float with a slap strap either your mask is too heavy (bottle bottom lenses???) or your strap isn't big enough. About two foot by three foot should do. Not to stop you strapping things to your mask though! Might be worth thinking about the relative inconvenice of losing a mask on the bottom though - if it sinks you're probably more likely to find it in open water! That said, not lost a mask permanently so far. Well, except one I had which didn't work. Digs. |

To be honest I thought they all sunk even with neoprene thingys, so didn't think mine was unusual. My plan is to not lose it in the first place though, so won't worry about it David |
