| Shot Pouch Material My wife and I bought some weight harnesses at the Dive Show. However, these need lead shot in pouches and as we already have shot belts with all the shot that we need but loose, we are looking for suitable material to make the pouches with. My wife is very handy with a sewing machine so constructing them is no problem - the issue is where to get suitable material. I have some canvas but this gets very stiff when wet. The couple of pouches that I have already are made with a sort of nylon mesh material but I have no idea where to get this. Anyone got any suggestions? |

| Hi Allan This is not the answer you wanted to hear but would you consider an alternative? I bought a Bowstone Harness last year but when I tried it with shot pouches it was quite bulky. I bought an 11k roll of roofers lead for £13.60 from my local builders merchant. I cut it into pouch-size strips (actually, Mr Helen did), weighed each strip and calculated how many I’d need. I then sandwiched the strips together into a block, rasped the edges and secured them tightly with velcro straps from B&Q. The lead doesn’t move around, is very compact and can be moulded to your hips – nice and comfy! I can also take out a sheet at a time to really fine tune my buoyancy. HTH Helen xxx

| Well, for the last 3yrs I've been using a pair of the missus' tights!! Cut the legs off just below the gusset, add the shot into the foot pocket and just keep turning it back in on itself with a little twist for security and 'voila' - one very cheap shot bag with excellent drainage Like I said - 3yrs and still going strong
