Oooooh look what I made...

... isn't it pretty!

After months of looking and finding nowhere that would sell me a decent knife holder for a reasonable price, I finally decided to make my own. So with about 8" of webbing, a little bit of velcro (from an old strap) and a needle and thread, i've come up with my great little copy! I also have a lot of holes in my finger (the "blunt" end of a needle is still quite sharp!) but that'll get better soon

So there we go - it's cost me nothing, is infinitely better than the holder the knife came in (where a sideways knock will make it fall out), and I can look at it and say "I made that".

...

Well I was impressed anyway

David

Can you get the knife out past the velcro?

If not, can you open the velcro one handed with gloves on?

Just a thought.

Owwww everyone's mentioned the pink

Just to explain that bit, its not *actually* pink - its bright orange. Unfortunately my camera (on my phone) is crap and can't make things look the right colour. But it's really not pink... really really... its not If someone wants to donate a camera to me i'll prove it

And Juz yeah I thought of that, the bit of velcro has shrunk significantly since I started - its now got just enough overlap to keep it held securely in place, but not so much that it won't just rip out if I pull at it. Good concern though, and one that took a while of chopping to get the balance right!

Well done for taking the time and putting the effort in to making something yourself. Looks like a well thought out idea and without having to part with wonga for something that does the same job.

Now..about that drysuit you volunteered to make me...

One question though.
Why does the knife have a hose connector on the end? Am I missing something?

Not a wind up, just curious.

Took me a while to work out what that was Won't the needle just go through the holes? I'm not planning on sewing anything again though, so i'll not worry about it... although i'll keep my eyes open next time i'm on the Kyarra
