Slate cleaning

Without wishing to spend money on a 'special' product to clean my slates with is there anything I am likely to have at home or get from the supermarket that cleans slates easily.

Using a rubber is just too laborious (I am sure I've used that line somewhere before !! *snigger*)

Cheers

Graham

Bleach (domestos type stuff) seems to work ok... or maybe it was Jif? One of the two anyway!

Panel wipe (for car paintwork or something I think) is very good, but i'm not sure where to get it from (I just get it from my dad who gets it by the gallon).

I've found that rubbing common or garden mud into the face of the slate actually works too! Strange but true... Give it a try!

Very fine wet and dry sandpaper, has the advantage that you can use it underwater
