Pocket snorkel?

Anyone tried one of the pocket type snorkels? There seems to be either folding, roll-up or telecopic.

Any good, or a bit of a gimic?

Hmmm, a folding pipe, rolling pipe or a telescopic pipe......at the end of the day they are still pipes.

I would tend to say that if you were going to use it every dive you would get a normal one, so if you are getting one it is to sit in your pocket until need and put up with all the abuse you will show it......to taht end I would lean away from anything with a joint or seal....which would rulle out the first and last.

Assuming you can brieath from it I'd go for the rolling one.

I'm thinking of getting one just for countries where they're required. Wouldn't dream of using the thing. I'd want to hang it off a d-ring on a clip somewhere.
