Which CO2 SMB to buy?
OK, Santa has been and left me a pile of cash but no shiney stuff

I was thinking of upgrading the standard Buddy self-sealing SMB's I use on my back-up reel (red) and my emergency "out of gas" (yellow), to the CO2 type inflating versions

Any suggestions/recommendations which make to buy

Also any hint/tips on using them gratefully accepted

I've got a nice little C02 fired one from Aquatec.co.uk . I'd keep the SMBi though.

Get the standard Self inflate SMB which you can refill from your cylinder ..........save money in the long run and you can always refill whereever you are

I use a Buddy SMBCi as a main, which I'll be keeping, its the back-up and emergency ones I'm thinking of changing

They aren't really suitable for back-ups though, which I think is what Gary was after. Far too big to be sensible for that.
Gary, I have only really looked at the Aquatec ones, but I would certainly go for one of them from what i have seen of them. Pack up nice and small, and the cartridges seem pretty commonly available.
