More as a general point of information, and I'm not implying that you didn't know [1], but quite often guages come with the o-ring ungreased. This can be a source of leaks.

l've had the same problems. l never had a gauge leak for eight years untill l strated buying the smaller 'der' unbooted type.

It's just the o ring has shreaded due to turning funny but the Der ones don't have the separate swivel it's fixed

Hmmm. My Der Agir one has the seperate swivel.

As for Stoney charging £3 - rip-off merchants I checked and we did pay £1 a pop there last year. The tinkers.

hmmmm, I've got two Agir and one DiR Zone SPG - never had a swivel or O ring go once. Mind you, one guage did actually fall off completely as I was heading towards the water once.
