| Best torch I am in the market for a new torch, more than likely an umbilical. If money were no object (not that it isn't) but if money were no object what would you buy. At the moment I have a big old 18 watt Halcyon which takes two lead acid batteries. But what would you buy and why. |

| If money is no object, Salvo. I have one, and I love it, it's like a little, portable sunbeam. Otherwise, the Metalsub torches have had some very good reviews (I think Mike's sell them) and they're relatively cheap for their performance. |

| There's a review in Dive magazine this month... both Salvos and Greenforce seem to come out very well... but so they should for over £650! Pete

| If money & time is no object I would wait 12 months and then review the LED offerings. Got my new SR500 light head with custom cable from Solus before xmas and the customer service and build quality is fantastic. (http://www.ssp.ie/products.htm). The SR500 is much brighter on land compared to my 10W HID - and hopefully will last a bit longer (am the owner of three bust Halcyon 10W HID heads now and have got fed up with having to repair them). Haven't managed to get the solus wet yet, but will post a report once I get the chance. Am waiting with baited breath for their 8 degree optics. Current light has 12 degree beam. | Still seeing instances of Salvos failing for whatever reason so personally I would still stick with GF, the best you can afford.
