Kirky has decided to replace his trusty TUSA Imprex fins. Problem is what to replace them with.

The Tusa fins always felt `a bit long`. I`ll need a bit of weight in them as i get `floaty feet`, and most diving will be done using twinset either inland or iffshore.

So - what does the board think is best?? - split fins, non split ??, Tekky fins

Your help & experiences please

Thanx

I know the jet fins are very in vogue on the boards, but I love my apollo bio-fins (split fin design, had them for almost three years) & I've just bought the scubapro twin jet (splits again) for my other half (now available in techy-black as well as grey)

Scubapro Jetfins but then I would say that wouldn't I

Seriously though John, you know the path I'm going down and therefore know why I went for these particular fins, but the bonus is mate they are furkin great.. All I can say is please don't spend any hard earned just yet untill we meet up at the Cape again very soon and you can have a dive with them.. make up your own mind then.

Best regards
Dave.

Thanx Dave - would appreciate the tryout. I`ve heard a bit about them but `try before you buy` isn`t something Ive seen in LDS.

Will probably be at Cape next Sunday so if you (or anyone else !!!) are there I`ll be on the cadge

PS - any luck with the knobs yet - I`m gettin closer, another inch and I think I may have it but will need to add weight to the lower half of the set else I`ll be diving inverted !!!!!

No problem John I'll look forward to it.

No I'm no closer to the knobs yet but until I get my new suit it's not going to happen, I can't reach past the back of my head never mind my valves... Andy Hayhurst sent me another suit this weekend brought over by Bren but unfortuntely it fit me like a wetsuit..

It's over to Diverswarehouse very very soon most probably for a baggy Brittanic or even to SDS for a made to measure DUI TLS350 like Brens which feels great but costs a small mortgage.. If anyone would like to donate any money to Davey's desperate for a bigger suit fund please send your donations too.....

I'm in the same camp as 2Tanx and Davey on this one - with a twist!

I was lucky enough to get a pair of Turtles from La Hayhurst (virtually the same as Jetfins, but with a larger foot-pocket, a smidgin broader in the blade and perfectly weighted) to accomodate my DUI Rockboots. At the same time I added stainless-steel spring straps (again from the Hayhurst emporium) and could not be more happy with the results.

The straps are simplicity itself and make slipping the fins on AND off a complete doddle - no standing on one fin and jiggling your foot about before repeating the process with the other. They were a decided joy at Abbs last weekend; as when you're on a pitching/yawing hard-boat, you just want to get them off in a second. Yes, happy as a pig in the proverbial. Again, you're perfectly welcome to try them at the Cape on Sunday (hereinafter referred to as 'YD Bagging-off Day') ;)

HTH.

Well, 2tanx and I picked up a pair of ND Jets today (£35 per pair) and they are the dogs danglies. Compared them with the £70 Scubapro ones and they are practically IDENTICAL. Same weight, same build, same width. Will be trying them out next week so can report back then about how they are in the water.

Kirky,
Ive just bought a pair of pro force fins, not cheap but worth looking at - very small with loads of thrust and very comfy too! they look a  bit different to most fins too which is no bad thing, and as a bonus there a dead easy to take on/off.
