Imported post Ahem.No it can't,..can it? Not done much with membrane types buy it's the same principle, prep surfaces,ie.de-grease/clean,key,apply ahesive as per instructions(on the kit you bought from your dive store!),apply and put some pressure on the bugger overnight. If you want to Aquasure over the patch inside and out.Have you got rubber grommets(whhheyyhaaay!)with the dump valve?Strictly speaking you don't need them but they help.Cut your hole accurately,(I won't insult your intelligence with remarks like 'don't cut too much out').Aim for it being a friction fit,not too loose (but not so tight as to crease the material when you twist it.The valve assembly should stay in place if the covers unscrewed if you get my drift. When it's rigt, screw it together. Is it membrane or is it neoprene? HTH,Hobby.

Imported post Hobby Its a membrane type. One of the guys on Handbag.net also suggested taking a hot nail to the edge of the cut hole and sealing it, to stop it fraying, worth it? Will my local shop be able to supply a bit of old membrane so I can patch the existing cuff-dump hole. I only want it to seal OK, at the moment it pours in and the boy gets frozen like a Bernard Matthews chicken (i.e. full of water) Cheers. Matt

Imported post As well as Aquasure, there's a really really good waterproof adhesive called "Stormsure", very very durable though maybe a little more expensive Chee-az Steve

Imported post Matt Why the move to a shoulder dump? If Adam is happy with his cuff dump (albeit the leak!) then I would suggest 'tarting' up the existing dump valve thereby negating the need to cut more holes in the suit. Patching up the existing hole and replacing with a new cuff dump would be relatively easy and a lot cheaper. Best regards to you both. Kev

Imported post No body likes a smart arse Kev, what have you got a degree in stating the bleeding obvious ;) Pssst, Matt he might have a point, what is it they say about woods and trees. Daz

Imported post Matt Sent it today. Might be better with a gasket to reinforce/protect the drysuit when you tighten it up.
