I don't know if you were diving a UWATEC computer when you had your bend but I see there has been a safety recall on their computers see http://www.safetyalerts.com/recall/p/02/p0013016.htm
Boy am I glad I bought a Sunnto eh! did I just say that?

suuntos are great apart from mine as
1. it hates diving and divers.
2. Its aquaphobic.
