I’ve just been digging out my old twin-hose had it serviced a couple of years ago didn’t use it last year but will have to see if it still works ok this year.

Anybody know anything about it? Age etc.must be 20/30 years old at least. I did all my early diving years in the Navy so never got to use this civvie stuff. Seems to work ok I’ve never had any trouble with it.

Any opinions on it.

I started off with a Siebe Gorman Mistral - single stage. Swimming horizontally there was a feeling of sucking air in through a straw and then having the air whipped out of your lungs on exhaling due to the relative position of the DV.

You got used to it though and the two stage DVs like the Merlin eased the inhalation gripes.

The biggest irritation was the flapping of the hoses and their water resistance - now we have progressed to rebreathers
