<font color='#0000FF'>Hi Bob

Have a look on the scubapro website - unfortunately it is really, really slow to download so I got bored !

I've got a Mk16 st stage with a TIS (Thermal Inssulation) kit on it and it's been fine down to about 4/5 degrees. I would think the Mk10 will be fine though better if it's got a TIS kit.

The G250 is a bit unusual but I understand fairly well regarded 2nd stage - I might be wrong but think they have just put this out of production recently.

My thoughts are that a lot of blurb is spouted by manufacturers about cold water performance and the need for dedicated cold water regs yet when i used really basic Oceanic A7 SP4s they were fine - and very cheap too. Treating the reg correctly pre dive on cold days is probably as important as the type of reg

Cheers
Paul

<font color='#000080'>Jepp they will do you just fine. The G 250 is similar to the R380 and a good cold water reg as is the MK10.
Well they worked for me anyway.

Regards
Michael

<font color='#0000FF'>I cannot comment on cold water use but I dived with this setup for the last 8 years. I also used it to great depths with very good results. Also you cannot compare the G350 with a R380. The G250 is a high performance reg and the R380 altough it's good is more comparable to the R190 of which it replaces.

Regards

Pierre

Hi,

The G250 is a very good reg, it is comparible to the s600 in performance, as it has the facility for personal adjustment, as well as the viva control.

The G250 is no longer brought in to the UK, however service parts are still v.readily avalible. Scubapro still manufacturer the regs, just it was not seen as a good selling reg in the uk market

The MK10 can be upgraded to the M10+ which can be done on an anual service, to ensure better cold resistant properties, and a TIS system put in place. None the less the reg is still suitable for us in cold water, but like any reg, if you put a great demand on it, whether it is cold water classified or not, you can still induce a freeflow.

Have fun diving
