| Imported post Where do you get reflective bungee? Sounds cool. Army surplus for me - got a couple of metres for nowt. £30 for SS? Some people have more money than sense! |

| Imported post Agree with Daz - bungee is cheaper, just as effective and with the tubing is much more confy. Putting on & removing fins takes seconds instead of the usual war dance with normal fin straps

| Imported post Pennine outdoor - there's a link to it in the scubadiy links page. I figure that reflective bungee does everything that normal bungee does, plus being way more visible. The chances of it actually helping are fairly remote, but since it has no actual downside, I ordered a 10m pack and am making sure everything stretchy I use has nice shiny material running through it Currently, it's on my DV necklace, my wrist instrument panel, and now my fin straps - will try them in the pool tomorrow..

| Imported post Just to add: Tried my newly-bungeed fins in the pool this evening. They worked superbly: The fins were just as secure as with the normal straps, and they were blissfully easy to remove. That's using two strands of (reflective) bungee threaded thru a bit of clear tubing. So much for spending out cash on those springy things

| Hey Doc, You might have a point there! Mind you, I know Daz is so 'beige is the new puce' when it comes to diving fashions, I can never keep up.

Beige is the old puce, magnolia is the new puce, black is the old black but blue is the new black.... Well until next week... Sorry for the delay, back online after a week of interesting The bungee is 5mm (available from B&Q), the clear tubing is wide enough to allow the bungee to be threaded through twice (also available from B&Q). The side clips are the female part of a set of standard pinch clips as found on many other makes of fins such as cressi etc.. available from most dive shops. I did have to trim a bit of plastic from the plastic lug on the side of the fins (The little piece of square plastic between the wide bit of the the lug and the fin). Once removed the lug is just a round lug with an oversized collar on the outside edge. HTH Daz
