For internet diving we’re almost all agreed!

1. A 3mt length of webbing clipped to both divers whilst on the bottom is a bad idea.
2. If you need a buddy line on the bottom either hold onto each other or hold a short line, don’t clip together.
3. Only use your 3mt buddy line when clear of the bottom for staying together whilst deco drifting or for attaching to the shot.

After reading your advice I think I will take a short piece of rope as Fiona’s suggestion, just in case it is needed. SWMBO is a good diver with around 70 dives but all are in the Red Sea or Capernwray, she has already decided the viz will be pants and is a little apprehensive.

By the way does anyone know what the viz is like off Bridlington at the moment?
