Agir Argon Mounting Straps

Does anyone here use the above? - If so can you help?

Rather than buy the "Official" product i want to make up my own but I
haven't got my backplate or drysuit bottle to hand to measure up.

Could someone please measure:

a) The overall length (tip to tip)
b) Tip to the very center of grommet hole (Both ends if different)
c) Grommet hole internal diameter.

Pretty Please - Much Appreciated

Nick

It's an easy job to make your own, the dimensions will depend slightly on your particular backplate and more importantly the diameter of your argon bottle.

Take a length of webbing and wrap it around the cylinder leaving a tab of 1.5 - 2 inches at each end.

If you want to do a proper job, you'll need a kit for fitting a brass eyelet, but you can make to with making a small hole with a punch or soldering iron. With the webbing around the bottle, offer the whole thing up to the backplate and mark where the hole needs to be. It doesn't need to be spot on as these things should be fairly loose (it makes it easier to insert and remove the bottle when kitting up)

You can see what I mean in the photograph. I finished these straps of by adding some stitching for reinforcement but didn't bother with the ones I replaced them with.

You can get away with one strap, but I use two to prevent the bottle rubbing against the backplate and getting scratched up.
