I use an Aquatek X450 membrane dry suit with integral rock boots and run of the mill undersuit, along with Mares Avanti Quattros (in yellow no less!) and normally use ankle weights on the inside of the suit. However, on Sunday I did my first dive without them in Viv and was soooo much more comfortable without them!

i have only used them once, in the sea. they did help as it was very shallow in parts and it was hard to keep my feet down! (in a neo DS)
never really needed to use them again though.
