| ankle weights I say same as above I started of with a neoprene suit didnt need ankle weights but then got a membrane with welly type boots amazing toasty warm but floaty feet so i got ankle weights and use them they've never fallen of. Recently i did a couple of shallow dives without them then went deeper and on the deeper dives got floaty feet again. So it really is an issue of getting your bouyancy and trim spot on. Easy when your just tootling along a shelf or something but when you go down a narrow hold head first thats when your issues start so im practising just that and its getting better each time. If my opinion counts for anything use them until your comfortable with all your kit configeration get some heavy fins then practise without the ankle weights until your trim weight balance is spot on. |
