Thumbs up Kent Tooling

after much deliberation i decided to do it right this time and buy a proper reel.

a quick call to John Perrin at kent tooling late saturday afternoon and he talked me through what i needed - fantastic advice and very helpfull.

then today i received my shiny new reel - WOW, what a piece of kit!!

so to sum up,
cracking advice, no pressure sales, fully upgradeable and indestructable reel built to unbelievable standards, spares kit included and all for a very reasonable price.

i cant wait to get it wet!
mind you, it's almost a shame to risk getting it dirty - it looks like it should belong in a display case on my mantlepiece!

Ditto to the above, I spoke to john and told him what i was intending to do and he sent me a lovely reel and a spool and another spool to try if the first one wasnt what i needed.

Well he didnt just send it to me i did have to give him money first, but it was no where near as much as i thought he would want. Just need to get it wet now.

I have quite a few Kent Tooling items, ranging from a spool to a ratchet reel. The kit is superb and the service is even better!

If your in the market for anything stainless steel, John is 'Da-Man'. Don't forget it's not just reels, it's all the harness hardware, SMB's, Rebreather Chassis etc as well.

You won't regret it.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kent tooling reels. They are a substantial piece of kit built to last.

Great customer service from John even when he needs an interpreteur for my posh NE accent.

Another thumbs up for both the reel and the service. When I first rang John we had a long discussion (the man can talk more than me! ) about what kind of diving I do and want to do in future, and he came up with a superb bit of kit made left-handed for me.

I then decided I'd like a second winding knob on mine, so another call to John and FREE OF CHARGE a replacement part came within a couple of days - I just had to swap the spool over and send the old one back.

In doing this I somehow managed to omit an o-ring when I reassembeld it - my reel wasn't running smoothly so John offered to take it back and look at it, but first talked me through disassembling it again - we identified the errant o-ring and it's worknig a dream now.

Top class service.

I think I'm a walking advert for Kent Tooling, 2 reels, Inspo box, backplate, pony brackets, torch brackets and a dsmb. All cracking kit, never had any problems with any of it.

John is a top guy who knows what he is doing.

Can I propose that John gets a knighthood for services to shiney things for diving in next years honours list?

I've a lovely 150m ratchet reel, and a 40m spool (which is nice and easy to use whilst being shiney too ) and a goodmans handle for the torch.

Nothing but the best of service. I lost the clip and attachment off my goodmans handle and asked John how much for a replacement.... In a couple of days I had 2 in my hand, free of charge!
