| Webbing knife sheath- not for girls So I've now got one of those very nice E.Goddard Victory knives courtesy of someone on SWM. Now- they don't come with a sheath so you either have to use an old one (I have one somewhere but I think the knife is rusted into it), buy one from a dodgy Dutch geezer or make one. Well making one sounds fun. Now the obvious way would be to use some webbing, fold it to the required shape then nip to a cobblers and get them to stitch it. But where's the fun in that? And sewing sounds a bit puffy plus when you pull the knife out, it will cut the stitching. So. Chasey, man of many talents (and rebreathers) got some Dud-esque rainbow webbing, some Araldite and a vice and bodged one together. Tut tut. Glue. The first resort of the amateur. Why use glue when you can Burn Stuff? So- into the workshop, folded over some webbing, clamped it in a vice and set light to the fcucker with the oxy set. Some flames later and a bit of a blow to put it out and the 2 edges had welded themselves nicely together. Result! A couple of brass eyelets later and the Woz Sheath is born. Janos gets sheath no 1 as the webbing is, to be frank, a bit Excessively Melted (but it works fine and is completely functional). I will try and not set fire to it quite as much and see how Sheath 2 comes out. Apologies for the pics- the proper digi cam is up on blocks so these are phone photos. ![]() ![]()

| Im sorry to put in a low note here, but if you have a webbing holder then if you try and replace the knife and miss whole slightly first time won't you just cut the holder and ruin it? And also won't the webbing flap about a bit underwater so that the whole on top could go flat making puttin it back in harder too..? Matt Last edited by Hooked_on_diving : 17-07-07 at 07:52 PM. | The knife has a screwdriver tip so won't go a stabbin'. There's an eyelet at the bottom so you can strap it round your leg and the 2 top eyelets that end up under the yellow knife handle are spaced for 50mm webbing. If you want, say, a 25mm lower strap then simply stop melting and put the bottom eyelet a bit higher up, creating a 25-30mm loop at the bottom that you thread the strap through. Simple, see? More melty news tomorrow.
