It was your weight belt and not your belly you wanted advice on wasn't it? P.S. With a single 12 and my neo sit I need a whopping 13k. I'm 5'2" and hardly obese. No point beating myself up about it. Anything less than 13k just doesn't work.

| Scapaman, as BB says (god, she's being serious for a change) - you really just need to do a buoyancy check at the end of your dive with about 50 bar left in your cylinder. Yep, you need what you need. If you are in any doubt, and I'm not trying to sell you a course, do something like a peak performance buoyancy course or if you have mates who are either experienced or instructors, get them to help you do buoyancy checks for free. You really do not want to be over weighted. Unless you are teaching and need to pull your students down when they float off! If you are weighted correctly, you will have much better air consumption and you will be much more comfortable and confident in the water. (I use 8kg in a dry suit and 10kg if I am teaching)
