| Also worth pointing out that if you want to maximise the amount of air that you can transfer over. Close the manifold on the twinset, then decant from the 15 into one side, then decant into the other side. Then open up the manifold. You will get more in like this rather than decanting into the twin set with the manifold open. Steve |

| From recollection, topping up my twin 10s from a 12 ltr pumped to 230 would usually give me just over 100 bar in the 10s. Apparently, you can actually get a better transfer by keeping the manifold closed and doing each cylinder individually - I never worried as there was shed loads of gas for the drift dive. Having long ago worked out that I could do 2 dives on the first mix and not approach any O2 limits I never bothered analysing the second mix and just dived it as if on air. It should be noted, that our drift dives rarely went below 15 mtrs and more care would have been taken for anything deeper. I would def recommend you pay service to the O2 clean rules and keep your whip with proper 'end closers' on when not in use and make sure you use clean air in your single donor bottle.

Wot he said is very true. If you take the whip out onto the boat then if it gets any water in it, then you will blow this water into the twin set. Then you have rust problems in the making. I use end closures and keep it it in a dry bag as well. |
