Another option... have you thought about a full face mask..? they all have a slight positive pressure and don't let water in.. I am being serious.. They are really comfortable.

Tips for getting a good mask:

Go down to your LDS and try on every mask in the shop, ignore the price, if the shop doesn't have a mirror, take one with you.

Ignore the 'breathing-in-through-the-nose' thing, it would have have to be an incredibly bad fitting mask for that NOT to work.

As you look at the mask you should notice that it has two sealing surfaces, the outside edge and an inner edge, hold the mask up to your face, and check that the inner edge completely fits your face (hence the need for a mirror).

Next do the same again, but put a reg in your mouth, or you could use a snorkel mouthpiece, check that the inner seal still fits.

Be aware that your face does change over time, and thus your mask may over time cease to fit you.

Don't bother to buy a mask from anybody else's reccomendation, unless their face happens to be identical to yours.

If it makes you feel any better, I have probably bought as many masks as you that don't fit me - but I bought most of mine cheap off eBay. I did find on that fits me great - and it was cheap and new

BTW the Atomic doesn't fit me either.

Have you a big face or a wee face or is it just a funny shape?

I like to think it's a relatively normal face

Paul (PBrown), your suggestion about putting a reg in is a good one. (Turbie will hate me for this because he suggested that too, and he always moans that I take no notice of him, but listen to complete strangers on YD.)

I shall take my reg to Aquanauts and try on some masks tomorrow lunchtime.

Ona more serious note, take your hood and a snorkel down as when you have a hood on, it squashes all that excess fat around your face into a different shape and your slightly open mouth does the same.
