Angry F*cking leaky masks

I have a range of masks that, were they shoes, would make Imelda Marcos insane with jealousy.

I shan't bore you with long list of brands, sufficient to say that the latest two I've tried have been the Beaver Atomic (which might as well have no bloody lens in it for the amount of water it lets in) and the Scubapro Frameless 2.

Every single b*stardly one of them leaks. I've tried tightening the straps, loosening the straps, sucking them onto my face before purchase, all that old cods.

Do I have an odd-shaped face? I don't think so. Perhaps I pull ludicrous faces underwater. Do I? How would I know?

The best of the godforsaken bunch is the Frameless 2. I start the dive leak-free but the water gradually trickles in around my nose so that, by the end, I'm clearing it every minute or so as there's about half an inch of water in it.

Help me someone What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried Cressi my sweet? I have both the Big Eyes (back-up mask) and the Lince (main mask) and I get on okay with them.

No, I can honestly say that, out of the thousands of masks I currently own, Cressi doesn't feature.

I feel another purchase coming on.

You've dived with me. Do I pull faces underwater?

How much money do I have to throw at this problem, for heaven's sake man?!

It'd be cheaper to have plastic surgery to alter the shape of my face to fit a Frameless 2.

God, I hate diving.

I have 5 masks

1 x scubapro frameless
1 x technisub look
1 x sphere - odd plastic lens one
1 x mini shadow
1 x 20 year old tusa mask

None leak apart from when I laugh or try and grow a beard.

Tusa Visulator is very good - seems like an update of my old one - pricey but fits well.

Still at least your getting lots of practice mask clearing in preparation for DM

this option is less drastic & cheaper than surgery

Another vote for cressi from me...I have the Matrix.

Only time I have a problem is when I have a laughing fit or when I have inadvertently got something on the skirt i.e sun tan lotion etc (then I find it leaks like buggery until it has had a really good clean...)

Cheers

Kathy
