Question Low light "night vision" mask?

Hi All,

Has anyone tried the new Atomic Aquatics masks, especially the coated "low light" mask? I haven't seen any reviews and wondered if they are worth the money as I do love night diving???

Cheers,

Bill

ARC mask

Hi Bill,

I have the twin lens subframe mask with ARC (anti reflective coating) lenses and I must say the difference is amazing!! Also very solidly built and appear to be indestructable. They are expensive though but I'm very pleased with my purchase. Try ROCK BOTTOM DIVERS for a good deal.

Not tried them but sounds like an expensive gimmick to me! I usually find a torch works well for night diving

Eighty quid!! F**k me! That would feed and clothe my family for a month where I come from! And there would still be change for a night out!

Vision mask

Hi Bill,

I have both the single lens frameless mask and the low light "ARC" mask and would definately recommend either of them if you can sfford it. Read the technical blurb as it all makes sense. The frameless mask has an extremely wide field of vision and is so light, I agree that it's as if you don't have a mask on, ultra low volume too and comes with a very cool "Dearth Vader" box.
The twin lens mask is extremely strong and has a lifetime warranty....you get what you pay for! The anti-reflective coating does work and is fantastic at night and in low light situations, but equally impressive in Red Sea daylight conditions.
I don't skimp on my dive equipment and figured that as diving is a very visual sport, I wanted the best view and vision. Try DIVETORCH UK, they offer a free Fa&Mi torch which attaches to your mask, finger etc.

Cheers,
Jack

I smell a rat!

Sorry I could be completely wrong here and I apologise if I am but I smell a bit of a rat here! Is there any chance that Bill, Big Ronny and Jep are all the same person?! Working for Rock Bottom Divers and Dive Torch UK perhaps?!

Bill - it says that you are from Scotland on your profile but in another post you mention that you have done most of your diving in West Wales. You also recommend three different torches from Dive Torch UK in previous posts.

JEP - You profile says that you are from Sully which I believe is just outside Cardiff and you work in Air Traffic control. Interestingly, most of your diving is in West Wales and Dorset. In your intro you call yourself John and now you say your name is Jack. You recommend Dive Torch UK in this post.

Ron - Again your profile says you are from Wales (Cardiff this time) and you work in Air Traffic Control. You recommend Rock Bottom Divers which funnily enough according to the website is in association with Dive Torch UK. You also recommend Dive Torch UK in a previous post.

Lots of coincidences which if you had all posted 100s of times I might believe but since there is only a total of 10 posts between you and most of them are recommending Dive Torch UK, I find it hard to believe!

Come on guys (should that be plural?!) you would get a lot further by a bit of honesty. I personally wouldn't buy anything from your shops now. If you want to sell the masks bring the prices down instead of wasting people's time!

Well theres another vote for the ARC Mask here, ive used it about 5 times and there really is a difference, i was scepticcal at first but when i got down to the bottom with 0 light and 0 vis the difference was there to be seen! Oh and to let you know i ACTUALY did buy my mask from http://www/rockbottomdive.com !! They are cheap and local!

HTH,

Hi Ferret,

I can see where you're coming from but please rest assured I do not work for any diving business. Ron and I are good friends and have worked together in the past but I now live in Hampshire and I do not know Bill personally. My name is John but am known as Jack to my mates. Bill lets me know when there's an interesting post and I trully believe what I said. If it's price what matters most I have seen these masks on ebay cheaper and they really are different!

Sorry if I've upset anybody!!!!

Dont worry about upsetting Ferrets, he has got thick skin! He has got a suspicious mind which is being fuelled by the fact that he has got far too much free time in the job he's doing.
