Update: shortly after this little tete a tete, I had an email from the manufacturer who saw this thread, he's a BSAC instructor (I think he said), based in HK and no, it's certainly not designed for use on deep wrecks in the Channel' his explanation to me was that they produced it for use on fringing reef dives where you dive a triangular profile, finishing the dive at the top of the reef and normally in shallow water, rather than with a deep ascent. Upshot of it is, he's sent me a freebie in the post (webbing & buoy), which I'll have a try out with at some point in the next few weeks.

And the diver in the video is from Thailand and I'm also advised that yes, she is gorgeous, comes with the full set of prerequisites, with no added "extras" and no, she hasn't seen what I wrote about her.

The buoy looks ok, it's a reasonable size, about 4 feet long I'd say, about the same size as my Oceanic dsmb; it isn't self sealing but the quality is pretty good. Yes it's red & yellow but that means jack-sh!t here as there is no convention on colours, you are just damn lucky if a diver has one, although this is improving.

i think its stupid ill stick to my KT reel thanks.
i saw two guids in maritus deploying an smb with some string wraped around a bit of woden pole i thought that was stupid too...then again its clear vis shallow reef diving, where as most of us here are diving in the deep cold black salt.
