That sounds a bit small and underpowered for 10 divers. Can't see there being enough space or the engine being meaty enough. 10 people plus tanks and weights and you're looking at not far off 1000kg in load.

Space wise 5.85m is going to be cramped with 10 people. I'd be more concerned with the lack of engine power for it.

Our main RIB is a 6m humber with 150HP engine and even that struggles with 8 people/1 tank each for power and is cramped.*

Our 5.5m/90hp can just about take 6 people with 1 tank each and have enough power that it isn't being flogged to death.

Suspect 7-8m with a correspondingly larger engine would be needed for 10 divers, especially if the sea maybe a touch rough.

* - not as much of an issue now, the engine blew up again so suspect the entire thing may now be scrapped crucifying the club.

Red face

It's been said already, but you would be better with two boats. 5.8m is on the small side for 8 divers let alone 10, for this you are going to need somthing closer to 7 than 6, and it will be a bugger to tow. We have a 6.2 with a new style 150hp Suzuki two stroke and are very impressed with it, it's just like a four and great on petrol, 8 divers are fine with this.

As for the floppies you have, they probably don't have the equipment, consoles or hull you have on a rhib, and as you only use them for close to shore dives and calm weather, you may not apprieciate that size matters!

I have a 5.7m RHIB, It will take 6 single cylinder divers or 4 twinset with stages divers comfortably. It comfortable at 20 knots fully laden and will do about 25knots if I want to use a lot more fuel. In only has a Mariner 75 2 stroke on it. Easy to tow and launch.
