If you are still down you might need it after ? only to find the unprepared has already sucked it dry !

Who would mind there drop tank becoming open to all in need?

db
If i plan for an eventuality that may require the use of a drop tank, I have to say that I would be absolutely livid if I needed it and some stupid barsteward who hadn't made a fallback plan had used it. Having said that, if i was on the boat and therefore not in need of it, I would probably be the first one to say to send mine down.

A drop tank for 'all in need' is a good idea but probably wouldn't work unless it was rigged to support everyone and everyone was at the same place. It wouldn't be fair to expect a skipper to determine how it was deployed, and who is to say that the first yellow blob up is hte person in greatest need. It would be a little unfortunate if the poo really did hit and there wasn't enough to go round.

This is where the philosophy of... if its worth having, its worth having two.. comes into its own.

How many people are going to have two drop tanks???

LOL, Paul
