Plastic clippy things that hold D rings upright?

Hi

I seem to remember something in a mag about a plastic clip thing that you put on your D Ring and Tri Glide and it kept it at 90 degrees, like a wielded one.

Anybody know what I am talking about, do you know where to get them?

Thanks

Buddy Verticlip

only for 50mm D-rings though it seems, so if yours are 55mm i doubt it's going to work.

you could try spot-welding them on to a triglide, or JB Weld it!!!

55mm? Are they not all standard 50mm, well apart from the 25mm ones of course?

No welding torch, but I did try the JB Weld - no good it broke off really easily

Mine are 55mm and 6 whole mm thick. None of your poncey thin metal for me. Grrrrrr.

If you want it to stick up, pop it in a big vice and knock 10 bells of fcuk out of it with a no.2 Thor*

I have it down to a tee now. In the vice, a couple of smacks with a No 2 and jobs done.

Of course you can DIY if you have a massive heavy bench and a £500 engineers vice. Tried it once in a home hobby vice. Smashed the vice rather badly. Luckily it wasn't mine.

You can't without unstitching the D rings on the end of the webbing (the ones you pull to tighten the shoulder straps).

That's why you need the AP thingys.

Ahh but the sticky up thing I am talking about isn't like you have on your Chest D rings, but the waist ones sitting up at 90 degrees, so when you reach back to clip on your reel, the thing does flip back flat against your waist band.

I did try and buy on off someone on eBay, but they were silly small. i.e. they ere for 50mm webbing, but the D ring bit was small it wasn't any benefit.

Though I have just found these: DiveCellar.co.uk and they look like they may be the proper size.

It's a pity that JD Weld stuff didn't work Al, it would have saved me a bit more money.
