| Southern Hemisphere Compass Exactly what it says in the title. I'm off to the South Atlantic in January and I need a compass. Now before some smart arse jumps in with "they all point north" (yeah you, that's what you were thinking right?) the ones designed for the Northern use have a weighted needle. Does anyone have one or know who sells them. Thanks Simon

| Will a northern hemisphere compass not work? That is, will is still not point to a constant bearing. And id you do have to head north - how far out will it be? Few degrees means nothing really on a dive where as 90 will make a small difference ;o) |

| No, I took my compass to Australia last year and the tilt was all to sh*t. I had to rent a southern hemisphere one. The water goes down the plughole anticlockwise too!!! Strange eh?

| There it is... Learn something every day. Now I know why the compass on my computer stopped working when I moved here. Just took it out of the rubber casing and can see that the weights are causing it to dip north. Bloody sourthern hemisphere compass. Simon, I'd suggest you buy an electronic compass. |
