PADI Slates

I have a problem that is driving me nuts!

I have all of my PADI Instructor slates and every key ring that I use to hold them either means that I cant fold over the slates underwater properly or they snap the slates or they are just a pain...

Does anyone have any clever gadets on how best to tie all these slates together?

Ta
Dan

I use a stainless steel split ring to keep them together. Then i have a double ender with a pencil tied to it. The appropriate slate can be easily found, and the double ender can be clipped/unclipped underwater as necessayr, and you always have a pencil for writing with.

I have mini split rings on each slate (about 10 mm dia, bought from a fishing tackle shop, and cost pence each because they don't have the 'diver' tag ), and then each set is kept on a suicide clip , and take out the ones I'm using (eg, for OW), and attach them to a double ender - slate or slates, on one end, attached to my BCD chest strap by the other.

If using a collection of slates (ie Rescue) then a 30 mm split ring does the trick - oh, and pick up the red elastic bands that the postman discards to keep the right 'page'.

Finally, make sure the rings are stainless, they start to look like a b*gger if they aren't and go rusty!

I use one of these for my slates- Aquaventurers UK, Merseyside's Online Scuba Diving Shop: LUMB BROS OCTO QUICK OCTOPUS RETAINER, Octopus Holders, LUMB_OCTO_QUICK

They work quite well and have a good sized split ring for the slates.
