TBH I even check "Air" cylinders as I have found on occasion they can get mixed up I was given an air cylinder in Sharm in Oct when analyzed I found it had a 50% mix in it which could have made for an interesting dive ![]() Cant blame the guys on the boat as it was only a day boat so no compressor on board but it made everyone a bit more cautious I know everyone is usually eager to get in the water but I find it a bit more relaxing to take those couple of minutes just to make sure everything is how it should be.

If I am going to breath it I analise it, does not matter what I think it is I analise it. When I went to the red sea took my own analiser. Peaple have died because the thought the new what was in there tank. In 400 potential dives over a weeks liverboard diving we had two wrong fills i was an air fill when it should have been 32% the other was a stage the user thought was 21% he had it topped with air half way through the week, analised it at 36% Graham.

i took mine to red sea in november last year on infinity wreck week there one went borked first day, they get used and abused loads every day so glad i took mine as it was free gas mixes all week including deco, as a rule i analize every cylinder i use before i will use it, even air fills better safe than funky chicken....

Analox (approx £160) easy to use and small/light. All the boats I have been on have had an analyser for general use (the type specified above), as others have said it is worth being organised and checking your gas before the briefing. Last trip we took ours but TBH never used it, that said I agree with others that it is a worthwhile investment anyway.

| right here you go....Why spend £160 when you get this one for £86? go to : www1.uk.conrad.com Type in 121501 - 62 in the search box
