O2 Analyser or just check on the boat..?
As some of you are aware I'm going on a dive holiday to Eqypt...

Should I buy an o2 analyser and test my own nitrox mixes, or is there one available on the livaboards in Egypt??

You might have to wait a while for it though If using the shared one then I would advise going to get your kit ready a little earlier so you don't get caught up in the post briefing rush.

Mind you they are not overly expensive and if you are going to dive nitrox over the longer term then a worthwhile investment I would say.

the last two liveaboards I've been on both had two analox analysers, To avoid the queue I always wander down before the briefing to do my checks.

if they supply nitrox then they have to have one...

When i did my nitrox course i went out and got one, they are not that bad on price and you always have that piece of mind that you will be able to know whats in your mix.... several times the shop one went bump and i was able to get my mixes because of having my own in the car...... GOOD BUY... LAST FOR YEARS......

Some boats only have one analyser between 24 divers.
I always take my own... but be prepared for 22 others wanting to borrow it whilst the muppet who uses the boats unit empties half his cylinder trying to use the thing...

Best is subjective but the most popular, IMO, is the Analox one e.g. Dive-Tech: TDI Nitrox and Technical diving and suppliers for Analox Oxygen Analysers
