BSAC Marine ply reel
I was in dive shop last week & one of the guy's in there was saying in the old'en days BSAC use to publish plans on how to make your own reel in one of there manual's. Does anyone have any pics of the reel or the plans on how to make it which they may wish to scan in & post.

It led to the term 'wingnut' becoming derogatory. It will take all winter to make and all summer to get the splinters out of your hands! Wally Lumb, a scrap metal merchant from Manchester, made one from metal, sold hundreds and never looked back

To be fair you would have to be particularly tight and very bored to want to make this over just buying one.
Or am I missing a subtle point?
