Are they as good as they seem ?
you're not actually trying to make your mind up before you buy some are you?

thats such a novel idea

Certainly no trimming should be required, they fit on over the seal without needing cutting. The gloves themselves are not fleece lined and come with a thin pair of inner gloves grey in colour (which i replaced with 40gsm thinsulate as i found them too thin).
I got the latex seal ones. I didn't see any that used a ring. So am I ok or stuffed

I'm more than happy with mine for keeping my hands warmer than wet gloves, i still have the standard liners in them at the moment and at the end of 100mins in the ndac last weekend my hands were cold but not that bad, last year doing the same dive in 5mm wet gloves my hands would of been painfully cold and lost the use of the old fingers

How tough the outer glove is questionable when wreck diving, but then spares from the various places on the web are cheap enough. if you hole them they look simple enough to change so as long as you carry a spare pair for those trips away you will be ok.

What i don't like about them is the bulky cuff, like string said they can swing around and bang in to things if your not careful.
putting your harness on is a bit more of a struggle but if you put one arm in and then use the harness break on the other arm its easy.
and the last gripe about them is when using stages with wet gloves on you can slip your arm in between your stage and body to get access to pockets etc with the cuffs this is more difficult. I would like to see a pair of rolocks close up to see if they are a bit smaller in the cuff to see if that would be an improvement on the ND ones ?

all in all the pro's outweigh the con's with your hand being much warmer than with the wet gloves and i think they will be warmer still with better quality liners.

Could you share with us your solution? I'm quite worried that once I will smash it on the concrete floor.

May not work for you but i have a front zip suit so simply shove the wrists inside the bottom half of the suit or even put them in my undersuit pocket.

To be honest just getting used to the fact they're there helped more than anything as just a case of getting out of old habits.

hi,

Sorry to side step slightly on the topic - but i guess this could be relevent to all the ring system gloves.

I have a set of the typhoon/check up system glove and have had mixed results. I have only dived the system 5 times though have managed to get wet hands on three of the dives.

The water appears to be seaping past the main sealing o ring between the glove and the docking ring.

Any advise as to what i can do to ensure that they are sealed? - a bit more silicone on the o ring?

I have enlisted help whilst putting the gloves on to ensure they are connected on fully but have still had a small leak,

thanks in advance for any comments

anthony

as i've said before on other threads, i have my dry gloves set up a little different to most. i have no internal seal (i.e. if the glove floods, the suit floods) and i keep the gloves permanently attached to the suit. there are obvious disadvantages to this, but it works for me.
