Reel and Line

Hi all,

I'm thinking of a new reel and am torn between Salvo/Halcyon with 400ft or Kent scooter reel with 125m. Anyone know of any pros or cons with either. The only thing I can think of is that the Kent reel will be particularly heavy.

Also, if I go for the Salvo/Halcyon, does anyone know where I can get high vis pink #24 line to replace the standard white?

Cheers, John

You can get the pink (err High visibility red) line from either custom divers, or I think Kent tooling do them as well.

As for the reels, you'll have people arguiing both sides. I personally find the haclyon/salvo type of reel simpler and less likely to catch on something. both the options you came up with are good for laying line.

Thanks, pink line sorted.

Going for the Pathfinder as I can get for just over 80 quid and looks as though it will be lighter / more compact than the Kent reel.

Cheers, John
