Before companies like Halcyon and DIRZone started doing wetnotes, Richies were very popular - I used to use a set myself. Gotta say that I was never that impressed by them as the covers tended to become brittle over time when used in cold water conditions.

One tip I found for wetnotes is you can store a lot of tables in there pretty easily - just get some Avery labels (white A4 I used) and photocopy tables onto them. Then just peel the back off and stick them in the last few pages of the notes.

Very neat, and I have all the tables from 45m to 85m in there on 3 pages. Covers nearly all of the dives I'm going to be doing in a hurry or where a custom plan isn't required.

Digs.

How durable is it? Does it wear off in the water?

It's been in my wetnotes for the last 2 years, and looks identical to the day it went in there.

Because the pages don't rub together they stay on there very well, and the plastic pages when dry are the perfect surface to stick the sheets to.

I'm happy if there's a few rebreather divers want tables like mine to fit in the back of wetnotes to knock up a price for doing it. They're Channing CCR tables which he is happy to share, so the price would be for printing and shipping basically. Oh, and the cost of the labels, because they're a bit steep.

I could do some OC ones as well, but with all the different gases and other guff it's not so simple unless you resolve to dive the same gases all the time and can specify a sensible range for the tables.

Another useful tip, if you just want to do this, go to Avery website and request a sample, they'll send you an A4 sheet of the things FOC, then just make sure you get it right first time with the photocopier One A4 sheet seems to do about 3 sides of wetnote. Not sure what paper size they use in DIRZone, Halcyon or Diverite ones, but you can all pull a sheet out of the printer and check for yourselves.

Digs.

I do know someone whose wetnotes stuck together and he couldn't read his deco schedule. Caused an awful lot of problems that one

That has reminded me of another advantage to the sticker option over the written table option, because the wetnotes naturally open at that point because there's a gap between the edges of the pages. Bloody clever. I don't know who came up with the idea, but they're a ruddy genius. I do hope it was me
