Bungee-ing my DSMB to a Reel

Hello All,
I've got the Buddy DSMBi and a MGE Multi-Function Reel.

I want to store the dsmb attached to the reel, but I really can't think how to do it - any hints/tips/suggestions

Cheers Guys & Gals

DSMB

I use the same DSMB but a Custom Divers reel, Ill take a picture of the setup, its just a loop of bungee around the handle that is tight enough to hold the smb in place, snuggly to the handle so clipping the reel to a d ring is easy.

If you have look at attaching a DSMB to a KENT TOOLING ratchet reel this may be able to help you what you are trying to do

I have a big chunky reel and I just wind the velcro tab through the handle and hang it off a convenient D-ring on a double ended piston clip.

It ain't tidy but it's never come undone until I wanted it and it just works.

Nigel, Nigel, Nigel! I have to say I thought an awful lot better of you and having had the pleasure of meeting you on a couple of occasions you are obviously an intelligent and erudite man. Therefore, I feel I must take you to task about your use of "ain't"; I really think you are letting the side down and would like to point out the correct word is "bain't" ........... isn't it?

To the OP, I have a strap attached to my reel so I can tie it to the wreck before sending the bag up from a wreck. I use that to tie the bag to the reel.

Some ideas here:-

I used a loop of bungie. I made a hole in the handle and used the one thats there already.

I wrapped the velcro through the handle, laid the dsmb over the handle before the spool, then passed the bungie over the package and over the spool. It wants to be quite tight - shorten at one of the holes. Include a finger loop at the end of the bungie to grab hold of.

Use a large piece of bungee and thread it through the eyelet on your reel and tie a suitable knot to secure it as a loop. Your reel cord should be clipped to the braid, or as I have on my buddy DSMB ro a stainless split ring attached to the braid.
Roll the DSMB up so it meets the reel then align it across the back or handle of the reel and wrap the bungee loop over both in a criss/cross stylee, or figure of 8. If the bundee is still loose, wind it around again until tight.

There's no right and wrong, but it should be secure and then you can clip the whole package to you. Voila!!

I've a velcro strap atached to the SMB, once it's rolled up I velcro the whole lot through the handle of the reel. Reel is atached to SMB at all times.

When needed, pop open the velcro and all is ready to send up.
