DSMB...where to buy?

OK, so I'm looking to buy a DSMB and I'm told by the sages here that the 'crack bottle' type is the DBs...

Sooooo....where is the best place to get one at a good price. I'm guessing a website but maybe you might know of a LDS that does the trick..

Anyway, any help gratefully received...

Cheers,

Patrick

Patrick,

Most shops will do one..

If I were buying one again, i'd go for the .1l bottle with a DIN fitting.

however my .1l A Clamp version works just as well (its just annoying that I have to put the core back into the main cylinder's valve where I need to fill it..). I don't see any reason for needing a .2l bottle, as the fill will only last one launch (before requiring filling) anyway..

As I said, most shops will do it, although 1 particularly hated shop does it for the least money.. I can't bring myself to write the shop's name, but I'm sure you can probably work it out..

Thumbs up DSMB's

Hi
I recently changed from using a Delayed-Aid device on a large McMahon reel to a crack bottle DSMB (best decision I made, even though the decision was brought on by a split in the previous SMB, whilst using it on a course)!!!
However, I can thoroughly recommend these as I've used mine effortlessly on several occasions sea diving recently.
I bought mine whilst on a course with Dales Divers (3 of us actually bought them), so I would not hesitate to recommend Andy - andy@dalesdivers.co.uk. They're between £70 and £90 and worth every penny and he'll post it to you.
A word of advice though - Never fully open the bottle when first sending it up, you are meant to open it slightly so it continues to inflate whilst on its ascent. My buddy recently opened his fully from 8m at the Farnes, it went rapidly skyward and so did his reel with it, as he hadn't hold of the reel properly before cracking the bottle!!! Dipstick!!
It actually came up practically under the nose of a guy off our boat, so he was lucky and got it back.

No matter where you buy it from, you'll never regret it. Good luck.

I agree the crack bottle DSMB is a great bit of kit and Andy H has them for £55 at the moment, just bought another from him on Sunday!
