OK, I stand to be corrected. However, the guy who runs a LDS round the corner from me used to be a RN diver. I've seen the kit he bought out of service when he left. The engineering is absolutely staggering, and waaaaaaayyyyy ahead of anything I've seen in the "sport" RB packages; and "yes" I've looked at the Boris.
None of them could p1ss in the same pot.
Doing it Redneck
Hehe. And the pot you have to fill with cash to buy one is *considerably bigger* too! Ultimately you get what you pay for - if you want to pay a five figure sum for a rebreather then you can expect the unit to reflect that. Personally I think the engineering in the Boris is streets ahead of anything else in its price range - certainly it makes the Inspo look like a Fisher Price toy!

I swear rebreather companies are in league with banks........Their aim to get everyone into debt
Actually that's not entirely accurate, Whoji - the standards and procedures for IANTD (the agency the person in question was training under) specify a minimum of 500 mins of inwater time, not the 600 minutes that you've suggested. As it was, the student in question not only met but surpassed this training requirement.
I hope this clears things up for you!![]()

The military units are made arse heavy on purpose, the knife between the teeth makes everything balance out just right!
