Red face Parachute and Jumpsuit

Well after the fun of jumping out a perfectly good aeroplane, ive now taken up diving - well pool at least at the moment. Ive got my drysuit, and will soon be posting all noob questions in the dive fitness and what should I spend my pennies on next (MartinS - is getting well bored with my endless questioning).

Onto matters new...

Two things for sale....

Parachute £200

Talon container - manufacture date 1987 (or thereabouts)
Raider 210 main canopy with 400 rides on it.
(something) 190 reserve - with one jump.
Its got a Cypres AAD on in it as well (this automatically fires your reserve if it all goes wrong!!) - this runs out in 2-3 years from memory

Cost £500 (2nd hand) two years ago.

I want around £200 for it so it can help towards a set of regs.
Its in good order, but the reserve service ran out in November 2005, therefore it needs another one (costs around £40).

I'm happy to get it serviced if necessary, as im about 2 hours away from the jumpzone.

Jumpsuit £45

Fit 160-170cm male (5 ft 6in-8in)
34in waist, with intergral booties
Jumped 20 times.

I've got photos of all of these but am at work at the moment so not to hand.

Thanks

Dan

I'll have to get the pics from home (grrr why do I forget to look at the site!!!).
Yup you definately need training. Although if you turn on the cypres you could just jump and scream, although opening height on the cypres is something like 750ft (and I can tell you that is **** low. !)

Normal pull height is 3500ft for student, 2500ft qualified.

The Raider 210 is 9 Cell, and in the colours of the rainbow on each cell. (Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Black), its got a nice Skull and Crossbones on the throwaway pilot chute. Good Slow opener.

Reserve is white.

I qualified at jump 25 ish, then did another 45, over a period of 3 years. I'm undecided whether to go back or not. So am going to give diving a go for a few years.

I am willing to trade for dive gear !
* 1st and 2nd stage (need 1st stage to fit drysuit as well)
* 2 x 12l Cylinders
* Computer (of some sort)

Ill post some photos when i get home tonight.

Dan

Naa, the reserver ride was down to me incorrectly looping the throw away pilot webbing through the final closing sleeve on the parachute.

...For the non jumpers amonst us.. the parachute goes into a bag, which then drops into the container which then has 3 flaps of the container which a line feeds through, my pilot chute was looped around one of thses flaps....

Therefore at 2,500ft (after a really pumping skydive) I threw my pilot chute out, counted to five, looked up and no chute... BROWN TROUSERS !

Did my reserve drills, paniced, did them again, and again.. this time slowing and finally had the reserver out at 1100ft -

Therefore good learn... Did another 10 jumps or thereabouts and thought I'd better do something slightly less dangerous under the water instead.

Dan

Well, it least the AAD would have fired soon after. Unless the pressure had changed at bit and screwed its deployment height

Go to bedford and play indoors - Not quite as much fun as the open air, but still a good laugh SWMBO likes the tunnel, after she found jumping a bit of a sphincter clenching moment
