| am i missing somthing or are you trying to get around cleaning your tanks ?? I belive the regulations are there to insure the poor gas blender doesnt blow his legs off while filling your tanks. As a gas blender that works for a large dive centre i would be very worried if you were able to just bypass the system and i think its rather irasponsible for you to try. Get them cleaned or dont use them !! Last edited by mythic : 24-07-06 at 11:41 AM. |

There are none. If you can find any statutory requirement to have annual O2 cleaning then let everyone know 'cos even the HSE can't find them.

| As I read it SML has got a diving trip booked, has realised that the cyls are stickered for the end of July and doesn't want to bin the diving by putting the cyls in for cleaning, hence the statement that they're happy for the tags to be punched for end of August. Are you suggesting that cylinders that are safe to use for O2 on 31 July are suddenly UXBs on 1st August? Of course there are other ways round this, like asking if anyone would loan them a 'clean' cyl for the trip while theirs is in for test... or opting out of the dive shop cartel restrictive trading practices on the use of gasses properly controlled by other authorities (Can of Worms for lunch anyone?) | In short yes I am trying to get out of getting them tested for two weeks so I can go diving hence I will be happy for them to be pre stamped with the August 06 date on them. I know it's not clever but I will get them tested.................. Quite happy for this to be removed if it not the correct thing to post. |

| PM sent. Oh and BTW - as others have said O2 annual cleaning is bollox invented by the dive industry. Yes stuff has to be O2 cleaned to begin with but it will stay that way until contaminated. This could be the next day or never - annual cleaning is utter crap. Last edited by Rob Dobson : 24-07-06 at 11:59 AM. |
