Ebay scam - Megalodon?

i sold an item a few months ago sea&sea vx1000 sold it for £1200, i went on ebay and did a search only to find not one but three listings in america copying my listing with my exact photo's i.e. the housing on my bed! i can understand someone selling the same item and perhaps using my pic but these people were copying the text and because the set-up was unique they obviously didn't own a similar housing. To top things off i had almost all of the bidders tell me that they had been offered multiple second chance offers which look very convincing, they simply substitute their e-mail address on a second chance offer and insist on using paypal.

It might be genuine because the guy is stating collection only BUT what concerns me is

Auction is Private (Bidder ID hidden which means when the item completes no one will be able to see the bidder or the item)
Only Paypal and Wire transfer payment (what about cash on collection)
Couple of repeat buyers with low feedback themselves
First bit of dive gear she/he's sold
Guy/Girl he sold a "car" to is no longer a registered user (so that's 5 out of 7 buyers that you cant fully trust the f/back for)


Not saying it is a hoax but it doesn't smell good

yeah definatly not genuine as i only asked him his address so i could 'send money'- he would not allow collection. the fact is he was trying to sell me something that i had sold both e-mail from the two people were the same saying they were deaf so could not take phone calls etc.

ebay can be good to sell thing i just hate the way its opened a massive new avenue for rip-off merchants its one thing selling items which are not as described but its frustrating how some people can be getting lots of money for nothing.

another thing to watch out for is nice new sony video cameras from china- feedback score 100 or higher but all the items they received feedback for are like 1p! so doesn't mean anything!

its a shame you can't make a citizens arrest over the internet!

Yeah...the other thing you need to watch out for are people selling fake gear but extorting positive feedback to build their score.

I refused to play ball with this seller on a fake Armani suit and got paypal involved

I got my money back plus incurred expenses through paypal but Ebay don't care that the seller is still selling fake suits.....she'll probably put some more on on Friday to end Sunday night and take advantage of the fact that ebay only respond on Monday to Friday.
