What lift is it?

I've got the Frog Midnight which I think is only 40-ish lb lift? (hoping it's enough lift now!!! Will be trying it with both stages as soon as I get my regs back)

the rec wing is 40lb - spot on for 12's & a single stage

Midnight's are 50lb - I tried Six's yesterday which was lovely with 12's, a full 7 & a full 80. if I don't get any good offers from this thread I'll be getting myself one too

Hmmm.....I've got the Halcyon 55lb with twin heisers and was looking to go Ali 40 and Ali 80.

55lb is complete overkill for the heisers and I'm sure it will be when I add the stages (certainly is with a steel 7l IIRC).

Are you sure 40lb isn't sufficient? It sounds like you've done your research but I just thought I'd ask.

I've tried two stages - 2x 7 & 1x 7 + 1x 80 - on the rec wing a few times now & it just doesn't work for me, in fresh or salt. I have both stages on the left & whilst the wing does give enough lift to support me under water, it is too full for me to get more air into the left side of the wing to balance me out, so I am constantly lop-sided & struggling. I am also very low in the water on the surface

I tried Six's Midnight at the weekend & it's just so much better, enough lift on the surface & effortless under water as I could balance myself out so I wasn't rolling

I was suprised how much difference the second stage made, the rec wing really is bang on the right size for 12's & a single stage, but I'm just not comfortable in it with the second

YMMV. if you've got a 40 & an 80 then you might get away with it as they're less negative, likewise if you're putting a stage on each side you might be okay, try it and see for yourself

maybe I should be saying that you'll be fine on a 40lb & you should flog me your 55lb'er
