Right then

Who else is coming up from the Southern end of england, cos if theres a few of us, one plan might be to hire a big ass van or minibus and load the hell out of it Between us we'd save a bloody fortune.

Southern Britain, or Western Europe maybe, but not England. It'll be Cardiff & yes it sounds like a good idea.

Swing round the 25 can you mate and I'm just off the M1 (close to Luton).
I'm up for a van share. Apart from anything else it's gonna be so boring driving on my own.

I'll be travelling from Yorkshire, so not too bad for me. I think the wife wants to come up and spend some time in Scotland with friends, if not I'll be in for a van share for the second leg.

Talking Time to plan!

Here are the Northlink Scrabster to Stromness (and back) ferry times.
I am thinking of going for the Sat 13.15 on the way out and maybe the 11.00 on the way back. The cost is £73.10 each way for a car and two people.

Pentland Firth timetable from Friday 4th February 2005:

Scrabster / Stromness
Departs *Sat Sun
Stromness 0630
Scrabster 0845
Stromness 1100 0900
Scrabster 1315 1200
Stromness 1645 1645
Scrabster 1900 1900
Crossing time: 90 minutes
* Peak season schedule Saturday 11 June - Saturday 20 August inclusive

Question yeah but.....

Beanie,

If we don't take the car, is there a car park in Scrabster? Also, what is the usual procedure for shifting all that kit on and off the ferry? Is it a case of using luggage trolleys?

Sorry for the daft/obvious questions but its my first Scapa trip :-)
