So what's happening with the PK trip this year?

Did I miss the thread or has nothing been arranged for the excellent annual shindig at Porthkerris?

I can understand if Simon is not up for arranging it but when I asked last year the young girl in the shop said he was going to arrange things as usual...

To be truthful I read this last night and felt so bloody angry at the insensitivity of the post that I closed YD down for the night.

Maybe organising a dive trip for the masses on YD whereby he cant dive is not top of Simon's priority list? Maybe Simon is grieving over the loss of a sport he can no longer participate in? Maybe Simon is having to focus on other things?

Maybe, yes maybe someone else will take up the mantle and start organising it? Maybe you Paul, can volunteer.

Ok Yaz, as it says, I was told that despite no longer being able to dive Simon had said to the staff at PK he was still willing and indeed wanted to carry on arranging the trip.

I did offer to the PK staff to make arrangements but .....as above. Maybe he has changed his mind hence to post to find out what was going on.

I have to be honest, it's taken a lot of soul searching and surprisingly a lot of effort to overcome something of a mental block, but it's finally up - YD Porthkerris X - July 2011 - The Diving Vicariously Trip!

Big hugs to you simon. You do such a wonderful job which from my won experience of trip organising can be a thank less task so from all concerned and especially me

    Thank you very much.

Looking forward to seeing you and Andrea and the Gizmo gang and the rest of everyone.

    K xx
why shouldn't divers have a dirty sense of humour - we go down, we get wet, we wear rubber!!

I think it's great you're organising this again Simon. If you are after something to do, kayaking around the Manacles is great fun. You might even be able to drag Lou & C out for a paddle, I need some more practice too
    Declared interest:
PSAI/SDI/TDI/SSI Diver Training or RHIB Charter in Cornwall visit - Atlantic Scuba.

Handily enough, sea kayaking is one thing I'm really interested in - dropping serious hints to my other half about a place in Oban that does introductory weekends Might even go and annoy the Lochaline lot on their next trip if I get into it

If you want to borrow our two kayaks - tourers, not full massive sea kayaks, but plenty good for coastal paddles - for that week then shout. We can kit you up. It is a lovely paddle out to the Manacles and you can get a cup of tea off the Cat when you are there. We caught up with the Cat and a basking shark there a couple of years back.
