Sharm - 2 Dives But Not Taking All Day

I am thinking about a trip to Sharm in Feb. I have had a look at some of the dive centre websites and they all seem to follow a pattern like this for a 2 tank dive: leave 9am - Dive 1 - lunch on boat - dive 2 - return 4/5pm.

I woudl prefer to do a 2 tank dive and be finished by early afternoon because my friend who will be coming along doesn't dive and we would like some time together. She is quiet happy sitting reading a book in the sun but I would also like to do some of that.

Does anyone know of any operators that can accommodate this sort of thing.?

Thanks

Talking

Hi Warmwater, with a name like that you should not be asking this one

I have experienced the same in Sharm, the dive sites are not that far away but they take a full day and it's often difficult to even get a third dive if you want it.

I was there last month and looked at an operation on the beach in front of the Jollie Ville Hotel, they rekon they can organise this or hire you the kit for a beach dive if there are a couple of people up for it. You could also try Ocean Collage, I am sure I seen there boats leaving from Naama Bay, so no transfer times.

Good luck

James

When we go to Sharm we try to get about 8 of us and hire our own boat - that way you not only get to dive the dives you want, not what they happen to be doing.

We are there 28 Feb to 7 Mar, and at this time of year that is usually no problem as it is fairly quiet

Hope this helps

Try Dahab

You could try Dahab instead. Because you go out to the sites with a jeep you are nearly always finished by early afternoon, especially if you set off early. And in fact sometimes you even come back to the dive centre for lunch. Most dive sites are around 30-40 mins drive away.

Cheers, Ant

Thanks Ant. I have been looking into it and Dahab looks like it fits the bill better than Sharm for what I am looking for. Plus it is nearer to some of the sites in the Sinai.
