Sunday 2nd Jan 05, Abbs.

Following on from the failed (not by me) trip on Thurdsay to Abbs, I'm planning on being at St. Abbs on Sunday 2nd Jan 2005 for some New Year Cheer.

The weather is blowing from the South to West over ythe next few days according to Gavin Yates' forcast, so it should remain as it has been, like a mill pond.

What time?

I'd like to get down there for around 9 - 10 on Sunday.

What Diving?

Billy says if you want to do the Glanmire the best time would be between 1.30pm and 2pm.

But I'll be doing the usual shallow bimbles round the gullies. ~15m stuff, where the life is.

Equipment needed?

The usual plus a DSMB. Billy has a compressor for fills. I don't know if its not clean air though!!

But isn't the wind blowing a gale??

Well, yes possibly, but its been blowing a gale since the eve of the 29th. But as long as it doesn't move round from the North, then its on!!

Tides as follows:

0006 Low 1.5
0644 High 4.4
1155 Low 2.0
1851 High 4.4

So far we have:

01 Dave Crampton,
02 Rob Lowe (unless your on-call?)
03 ??

Anyone else? Andy_B, Brian Donaghy, Gary (Gunsentry), Notdeadyet ??

I'll be phoning Billy on Saturday eve/Sunday morning to double check on the weather, as he says he's heard a rumour its getting colder over the weekend, which could mean the wind could be moving round from the north? We'll see.

I'll come along if I can get a gas fill. I'll even dive air if I have too.

Red face Current Forcast for Abbs/Dunbar

Hi all,

The Forcast from onlineweather.com, at the moment is:

Today - Moderate Rain
+7 degrees C
SW, F5 - 8, 21 - 42 mph

Tonight - Moderate Rain, Hail, Snow
-2 degrees C
SW, F5 - 8, 21 - 42 mph

Tomorrow - Moderate Rain, Hail, Snow
-1 to 2 degrees C
West, F5 - 8, 21 - 42 mph

I'm going to phone Billy at 8 tomorrow. I'll then post on the thread in planned Trips to say whether its on or off.

Are you likely to come along if its dull and rainy? Please let me know soonest so I can let billy know the numbers. If you want to pm me your phone numbers I can always call if its off. Going on the info at present, I'll be there, after all your going to get wet anyway. I'm sure we could change in Billy's place if its throwing it down.

As Dave has pointed out - Souwesterlies can be OK. The forecast was mince the other day but Dave had a good day.

Tomorrow looks worse on paper but might be fine in practice.
