YD DIR(ish) Poole meet 16/17 April 2005

As previously advertised, I am putting together a dive trip on the weekend of 16/17 April. It would be great to have as many of the YD DIR fraternity as possible along, however all are welcome, particularly if you want to learn more and dive a Hogarthian rig. I should have enough spares to rig up another Hogarthian twin or single rig and can borrow some extra kit if required- let me know.

I will copy this message to other non-DIR diving friends, so this will not be an exclusively DIR trip - come along if you are interested or just fancy a dive. Depths will be in the Nitrox 32 range (35m absolute maximum and probably less). We will be diving from JA Diving, an excellent converted fishing boat with a good tail lift that has the big advantage of free parking close to the boat and trolleys to take your kit the 100m from the shop to the jetty . Dave Saywell is probably the most experienced skipper in the area and owns many of the local wrecks.

I have a couple of spare beds and a lot of floor space so can put people up if required. The comfort factor is in inverse proportion to the number of people staying, however I can guarantee excellent non-DIR bacon sarnies in the morning. Dave also has a very reasonable B+B close to the boat (I am about 25 min drive away).

I hopefully will have had my X-Scooter delivered by April, so there may be a chance of a test drive on the second dive of the day (or the first if someone else brings their Scooter). I will still be on leave on the week before the trip, so am very amenable to the possibility of some deeper dives on the Thu/Fri if anyone can get down early.

Maximum number is 12, although this could stretch to 13 if I crew for Dave with my dodgy RN and RYA navigation qualifications.

Hi Lanny, How much will this cost? Crusty is an ace skipper and it'd be great to dive with him again.

Sorry, should have put that important detail in! 40 quid per day tops, and probably less when we fill the boat.

Hi Lanny,

We're booked to dive the Hedwig and Gascony on the 16th, so won't be able to make it this time. Next time though! You having your steward prepare the bacon sarnies??
