I'm just back from seeing Chris & Liz Hall in Huddersfield this weekend (See also Trip reports). Liz gave me Chris' Torch to add to the Raffle? Helen, it is a raffle right?? this coming weekend. Just editing for the sake of accuracy. However- Scuba Sue will be delivering lots of shiny tatt on my behalf (and a bag of prunes).

From experience of previous YD gigs, about half the folk who put their name down will actually trun up, but that still leaves us with 40-50 people looking lost! Can I suggest that everyone who is coming tries to do a bit of YD ID? Whether it is logo-ed clothing, a note in your car window, a name badge or even something as simple as wearing an armband (a bit of ribbon or something, not an orange inflatable swimming aid!) over your drysuit it will all help the "social" side, which is what the gig is all about.

If you don't want to do that then walking through the carpark staring hard at strangers works reasonably well, but I have had some embarassing moments trying this....

All YDrs should wear ridiculous hat or piece of clothing, something which points to the casual viewer to assume the person is insane
